This position reports to Directors of Clinical Operations for Acute Care, Allied and Seniors Health in Area 1 (La Crete, Fort Vermillion and High Level) and Area 2 (Peace River, Grimshaw, Manning and Fairview). The Allied Health Manager position is a key leadership role within North Zone operations that is responsible and accountable for providing the leadership, direction, planning, organization and evaluation of the Allied Health Services portfolio in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

The manager will work with interdisciplinary teams and must be able to operationalize processes to support best practices and evidence-based care in the delivery of allied health services to patients in Northern Alberta. The incumbent must have a proven record of building and maintaining positive working relationships, demonstrate flexibility and ability to manage change in a constantly changing health care environment. This position works closely with the integration of services in other health care teams such as school divisions and contracted care facilities. This portfolio is currently responsible for Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Speech Language Therapy, Respiratory Therapy and Audiology.

Bachelor’s degree in health-related discipline. A minimum of five years management experience ideally in an organization of similar size and complexity. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the designated service area year-round.

The successful candidate must be a dynamic, professional and innovative team player with proven leadership skills. The applicant must have demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. They must articulate their commitment to patient care within the diverse population of Northern Alberta. Proven ability to manage human, financial and physical resources efficiently and effectively with an operational budget. Effective fostering of partnerships to achieve program, site and organizational goals required.
