Description
Cancer Care Alberta seeks an Administrative Support V (ASV) to join our team at the new state-of-the-art Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AC). Reporting to the Manager of The Oncology Surgical Procedures Unit (OSPU), the ASV brings specialized admin expertise as a critical contributor to the daily unit operation, Operating Room scheduling, and staff scheduling. Primary responsibilities will span but not be limited to staffing and OR scheduling, and specialized clerical support as required. You will use your extensive knowledge and experience in healthcare scheduling to ensure the unit is supported and facilitates safe patient care. Understanding the function and limitations of the Surgical Suites within AHS is an integral part of the position to manage and coordinate the OR's daily schedule in Optime. The ASV will ensure the accurate collection, maintenance, problem-solving and provisioning of scheduling data with high accuracy and efficiency. You will thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities that require dynamic organizational skills. The ASV will bring proven written and verbal communication skills as they liaise with Managers and staff and scheduling offices as needed. The AC is a world-class facility. As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).
Minimum two years of experience working in Surgical Services and using Connect Care Optime. Completion of a recognized Unit Clerk course. Completing a Medical terminology course is required, along with Staff scheduling training and/or certifications (ESP, WFM). Advanced computer skills demonstrate proficiency in various software applications, including Connect Care, Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Self-directed and able to work with minimal direction. Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
Experience working in the Oncology Surgical Procedure Unit at Arthur Child Cancer Centre.
