Reporting to the Edmonton Director of Adult Acute Care, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Recovery Alberta as a new, evolving and impactful organization providing mental health and addiction services. Adult Acute Care is a key component of Recovery Alberta's comprehensive recovery-oriented system of care. The successful candidate will have exceptional data management skills, superior problem solving and scheduling skills, and advanced office administration skills. You are organized, self-directed, and able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team member. As the Administrative Assistant to the Director and support for the broad continuum of acute care mental health and addiction portfolio, you will join a team of dedicated leaders who are working to continually improve access to quality treatment and recovery services. With a commitment to reducing the stigma faced by our clients/patients and their families, your exceptional communication skills will be essential ingredients to success. As a key and critical member of our team, you will face multiple and complex challenges. Additionally, you will have unending opportunities to learn and develop, and you will contribute to making a difference. Key responsibilities include collation and initial analysis of financial, utilization and quality data from a wide variety of data sources, database management and spreadsheets, office leadership and administration (including administrative support functions specific to the Director), meeting organization and support (including taking and distributing minutes), calendar/schedule management, and being a key and reliable point of contact for team members, and internal and external stakeholders.

As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams), and working knowledge of SharePoint software. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative experience. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Experience using scheduling, recruitment and financial management software systems is preferred. Candidates with experience in health care settings, specifically mental health and addictions, will be given preference.
