Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Support Services, the Bed Utilization Coordinator requires a high degree of critical thinking, organizational skills, problem solving, communication and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to support the coordination of patient flow within the facility, and external referrals. The incumbent will work collaboratively with frontline staff, departmental leadership, senior leadership and external AHS and non-AHS partners to ensure appropriate patient transitions and resource allocation. This role requires a knowledge of organizational structure and local resources, focusing on safe care and resource distribution from a patient-centered approach. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Formal or informal leadership experience. Previous experience in patient registration or acute care unit. Previous administrative assistant experience within AHS.

Current or previous experiences at Northern Lights Health Centre.
