Description
The Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Support IV to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Database team working out of the Alberta Children’s Hospital. This specialized team plays a vital role in supporting neonatal care, research, and quality improvement initiatives by maintaining comprehensive and accurate patient data. The incumbent will be responsible for transferring critical patient information from Connect Care into a provincial neonatal database. Data is collected from Level II and Level III NICU sites across Calgary, with Level III information contributing to a national database that supports newborn critical care research and outcomes monitoring across Canada. The accuracy and integrity of this data are essential. Physicians, clinicians, and researchers rely on this information to identify trends, evaluate health outcomes, support research initiatives, and ultimately improve the quality of care provided to vulnerable newborns and their families. Therefore, success in this role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of medical terminology, and a commitment to accuracy. The ideal candidate is organized, methodical, and able to maintain focus and precision while performing repetitive tasks. They must be able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week following completion of orientation and training. To ensure your skills and qualifications are considered, a current resume and cover letter are required.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Equivalent experience of 3 years at an intermediate executive administrative level may be considered. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management. Strong communication skills. A minimum intermediate competency in Connect Care, Microsoft Office Suite and Sharepoint Online. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with appropriate tact and diplomacy.
2 Years of full-time experience in an intermediate administrative capacity in a Health Care setting. Experience supporting medical education, clinical research, healthcare databases, or data management activities would be considered an asset.
