Administrative Support IV

Reporting directly to the Clinical Supervisor for the Division of Neurosurgery AMHSP (Academic Medicine and Health Services Program) in the Edmonton Health Corridor, this position provides administrative support to divisional members. Working with a team of administrative support staff in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for answering telephones, arranging and coordinating patient clinics, surgical procedures and diagnostic testing. As this position serves as a liaison between patients, physicians and other support services, the incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills while demonstrating initiative, flexibility and confidentiality.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Completion of relevant post-secondary education in Business, Medical Office Assistant or other medical related training in conjunction with a minimum of three years of medical office and surgical experience. Mandatory completion of Medical Terminology course. A minimum of three years of Connect Care experience working in the Medical Office Assistant role. Candidates must possess a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills and demonstrated experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required along with strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. You will require the ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and workload demands with minimal supervision. The successful candidate must be able to exercise professionalism, tact and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential issues.
