Opportunity for casual/relief shifts in Radiation Therapy Booking at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. The Radiation Therapy (RT) Booking Clerk performs all booking-related functions for patients requiring Radiation Therapy at the Cross Cancer Institute. The RT Booking Clerk is responsible to schedule multiple, complex appointments for each patient on the request of a Radiation Oncologist (CT Simulator, Mould Room, Radiation Treatment, Brachytherapy Treatment, RT Review) and to coordinate those appointments with other diagnostic and treatment appointments. The RT Booking Clerk supports a multidisciplinary professional team and is responsible to interpret and process orders generated by Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists and Radiation Oncology Nurses. The RT Booking Clerk has direct patient contact throughout every shift, providing patients with notification of their appointments and basic education about preparation and expectations for department visits.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Must have Schegistrar experience in Connect Care and minimum 1 year experience in the clinical environment as a Unit Clerk or Booking Clerk. Must have experience managing patient and interdepartmental telephone inquiries within a high-volume call center/multi-line phone system. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and task switching.

Previous experience interacting with cancer patients and their families would be beneficial. Experience with computer applications ARIA RO, I/Request, PACS and Genesys Cloud would be considered an asset. Medical Office Assistant course with Medical Terminology is preferred.
