Description
In Volunteer Resources, our goal is to communicate and promote Alberta Health Services (AHS) as an organization of choice, develop strategic plans to build and sustain volunteer pipelines and to maximize the efficiency and productivity of our services, all in support of ongoing patient and family centered care objectives. The Volunteer Resources Coordinator will provide personalized support to all volunteers, in every phase of their engagement with AHS. The coordinator will act as the first point of contact, striving to make each engagement unique and professional. The PA will have significant interaction with potential and accepted volunteers, always contributing to the ongoing strategic goals of AHS and Volunteer Resources. While collaboratively supporting specific Volunteer Resource sourcing activities as well as engaging, evaluating and refining the management of competent volunteer pools, the Coordinator will be organized, deliberate and relentless in the approach to support the resolution of challenges related to volunteer talent demands at AHS. The coordinator will research, trial, execute and evaluate a variety of attraction and engagement strategies that support a sustainable, continuous pipeline of quality talent available to all AHS volunteer programs.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Personal volunteer experience of 1200 hours, within the last 10 years. One (1) year experience in a volunteer management role.
Experience planning, developing and implementing full cycle volunteer management strategies. Basic awareness of related legislation and best practices in volunteer management. Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Requires skill and experience in resolving issues or referring to the appropriate Volunteer Resources team member. High degree of independence, with an ability to take initiative, manage workflow and set priorities.
