Join a dynamic and collaborative team supporting specialized cardiac care within the Heart Rhythm Device Program. As a Casual Administrative Support team member, you will play an important role in coordinating patient care and supporting the daily operations of a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities include booking patient appointments for specialist consultations and diagnostic testing, maintaining patient and operational databases, supporting timekeeping and inventory processes, and responding to inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. You will also assist with the collection and organization of patient demographic and health information while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional customer service. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly skilled Registered Nurses and allied health professionals who provide expert assessment and care for patients with pacemakers and implantable cardiac devices. The role offers exposure to a specialized area of cardiology and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful patient experiences across multiple hospital sites, including the University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, and Stollery Children’s Hospital. As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties. Ability to cope with frequent interruptions. Effective interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with patients, families and all levels of staff are required. Excellent time management, communication, multi-tasking skills and the ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively required. Proficient computer skills required with a variety of programs including Excel and Word. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence in a team atmosphere. Demonstrated ability to adapt towards change. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing needs of workplace. Prolonged periods of walking, standing or pushing/carrying objects over 10 lbs may be required. Must provide a resume.

Recent relevant experience is preferred or equivalent procedure/acute care areas. Experience with payroll and EPIC an asset. Previous experience with patient scheduling through EPIC will also be considered.
