Description
Reporting to the Unit Manager of the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, this position provides a wide range of clerical support for the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic and Program. Responsible for the review and preparation of outpatient records and requisitions for lab tests for clinic visits. Creation of clinic templates, preparing clinic schedules and booking urgent cases. Provides registration and booking services, including telephone triage for the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic and clerical support to the department including physicians, nurses and other staff. As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Requires excellent interpersonal, telephone, and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment. Duties include patient registration, coordinating outpatient scheduling, and providing administrative support. Demonstrates commitment to Patient and Family Centered Care aligned with AHS values and must be willing to cross-train within the Stollery Children’s Hospital to support patient care. Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program is required, along with demonstrated proficiency in Connect Care administrative roles. Requires 3-5 years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting and intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, email). Strong time management, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and interruptions are essential. Candidates must be self-directed, adaptable, flexible, and able to work independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team. Attention to detail, reliability, dependability, and maintaining strict confidentiality are required. Physical duties include bending, lifting, pushing, and extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
Connect Care, Netcare and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
