Description
The successful candidate will deal with a variety of tasks requiring a considerable degree of knowledge and independence. This individual will enjoy working in a highly challenging, change-orientated environment, which includes working closely with the Home Care Manager and Health Care Aide Team. Handle interactions with the public, professionals, and clientele in a skillful, professional, and confidential manner. Perform administrative responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency, maintaining the filing system and other related duties. This position will also support the Health Care Aide Team and Health Care Aides (HCAs) with: Handling and processing all new service authorizations or changes in a timely manner. Maintaining records of client schedules and sharing with HCAs. Managing care time requests and offering suggestions for changes to those requests or service authorizations as needed. Processing staffing time off requests, arranging coverage for shifts as needed, and any other duties that may be needed to support the team. Please note this is not an entry level position. Candidate will be entering and processing payroll for the Lamont Home Care staff. The selected candidate will be working under limited guidance and direction and as an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Post-secondary Business or unit clerk training, with no less than two years' experience. Experience in a healthcare setting is required. Must possess a strong team spirit and the ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills are a must. Must have the ability to set priorities, work productively and in a well-organized manner. Must be proficient in working with Microsoft Office Suite and must demonstrate the ability to learn new applications. Please Note: This position is required to sit at a computer for long periods of time. May be asked to lift boxes or equipment under 20lbs.
Knowledge of or prior experience in a home care office environment would be an asset. Experience with Connect Care is an asset.
