Description
The South Health Campus provides service to the Calgary Zone in high-need areas, including Women’s Health, NICU, Emergency, Surgery and Mental Health. It serves inpatients and outpatients, providing wellness services, illness prevention, and public health learning opportunities for the community in conjunction with a YMCA on-site. The South Health Campus has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars guide the development and delivery of service to all patients and families at SHC. This position is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services. Duties include greeting and registering patients, documentation, order entry, telephone coverage, electronic scheduling of appointments, assisting technical staff and working closely with other areas. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. This position may be required to provide clerical coverage at South Calgary Health Center MRI.
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Medical Terminology Course or Unit Clerk Course required. Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills, 35 words per minute required. Absolute attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive, and tactful. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Skilled at paying close attention to detail. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs. Recent Diagnostic Imaging experience required. Previous electronic Diagnostic Imaging Scheduling experience preferred. Minimum 3 months recent experience in a hospital or medical environment, involved in booking, reception, and clerical duties preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Windows (Word, Excel, Internet, and Email). Must be able to lift 10lbs. Must be able to work with dual monitors. Must be able to assist in patient transfers under the supervision of a healthcare professional when necessary.
