The Administrative Support III plays a vital role within the Dermatology Clinic and Ambulatory Medicine Program at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. Reporting directly to the Clinic Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of information and delivering high-quality clerical support to clinic staff. Key responsibilities include registering patients, scheduling and managing appointments, coordinating provider schedules, and handling incoming calls by answering, transferring, and relaying messages promptly. As a front-line representative, the Administrative Support III greets and directs patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner, while maintaining confidentiality at all times. The role requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position depends on flexibility, initiative, and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A moderate level of physical activity is required to meet the demands of this position. This includes, but is not limited to, frequent reaching above shoulder level and looking upward, as well as prolonged periods of telephone and keyboard/computer work. The incumbent must be able to lift and hold up to 20 lbs and maintain sufficient mobility to bend, stoop, and move quickly throughout the shift.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Administrative Support role in an ambulatory setting is required. Completion of a relevant certificate or training program (such as a Unit Clerk program or Medical Office Assistant program). Proficiency with general computer programs (such as Word, Outlook, and Excel). Experience with the Connect Care informatics system (ideally with roles including schegistrar, medical office assistant, and template building). Recent experience with similar functions in eClinician may be considered. Strong multi-tasking ability. Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced, time-sensitive organization. The ability to sit and complete computer work for extended periods of time. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
