Using excellent customer service skills, the Admin Support III coordinates patient care and manages medical records at the Manning Medical Clinic located in Manning, Alberta - 6 hours north of the city of Edmonton. The incumbent provides administrative support to physicians such as preparing correspondence to health professionals, organizing patient results, completing medical forms for third parties and other secretarial support as required. In addition, the clerk will assist the physician in patient exams by preparing the room and equipment, interview patients to prepare for appointment, measure basic vital signs, and assist the physician with exams and treatments. The Admin Support III will answer phones and greet patients / visitors as well as maintain the office supplies, medical supplies and office equipment. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years' experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a health care setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Above average customer services skills. Excellent computer skills essential. Strong attention to detail Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of people from various ages and backgrounds. Ability to function efficiently in a busy environment - to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to code, process, store, track and retrieve records and information efficiently in an electronic charting system in accordance with policies and procedures.

Medical office assistant or Unit Clerk course preferred.
