Reporting to the Principal, Cargo Network Optimization this position will lead the design of freighter flight schedules and be responsible for managing relationships with the operational branches to ensure schedule integrity. The successful candidate will also work closely with passenger Network Planning and other commercial groups to prioritize and leverage opportunities for profitability expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of Air Canada Cargo’s flying schedules, with a goal to maximize profitability in coordination with Air Canada’s passenger service:
    • Analyzing current route performance
    • Determining capacity adjustments
    • Optimize flight timings to maximizing connection opportunities while ensuring a competitive and attractive network for Air Canada Cargo’s customers.
  • Proactively analyze schedule and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and maximize aircraft utilization.
  • Monitor freighter revenue/profitability, deciding on and implementing schedule adjustments as appropriate.
  • Lead discussions with operational teams to ensure freighter schedule is feasible and conduct periodic audits and benchmarks to ensure competitive scheduling parameters.
  • Act as a point of contact with external stakeholders such as Airports, Communities and Air Canada Network Planning while ensuring Air Canada Cargo’s best interest.
  • Act as key point of contact within cargo Network Planning for all charter requests and oversee coordination with various departments to ensure successful operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate slots are applied for/secured to operate the schedule and are utilized/protected for future seasons.
  • Further develop schedule communication initiatives to ensure that internal stakeholders such as Regulatory Affairs, Sales, OPS, are preparing accordingly for upcoming changes.

Qualifications

  • University degree; Focus in Finance, Operational Research, Mathematics or Business an asset
  • 5+ years experience in transportation, or airline industry
  • Scheduling or resource planning experience a key asset
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to solve unstructured problems and ability to lead projects in fast-changing environments
  • Results-oriented and influential with exceptional people and communication skills
  • Advanced Computer Skills: BI tools, MS Office suite of products, Power BI
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment
