We are seeking a rigorous and motivated individual with strong quantitative and analytical capabilities to join Trans-Canada Capital’s (TCC) Performance team as a Senior Analyst.
Reporting to the Manager, Middle Office, you will play a key role in the production and analysis of multi-asset portfolio performance while actively contributing to the enhancement of tools, processes and analytical capabilities. This role offers broad exposure to various internal teams as well as the opportunity to work across a wide range of asset classes, including private markets and derivative instruments.

The selected candidate will choose TCC for the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of asset classes, as well as for the strong collaboration across the organization, providing a comprehensive understanding of investment activities. The individual will evolve in an innovation-driven environment where their ideas will have a tangible impact on the evolution of the team’s analytical and technological capabilities.

The position requires at least 4 days per week at our downtown Montreal office.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform the calculation, validation and analysis of multi-asset portfolio performance while ensuring data quality, consistency and reliability;
  • Apply industry best practices in performance measurement and attribution, particularly in the treatment of capital flows, derivatives and private assets;
  • Develop in-depth expertise across a broad range of asset classes (fixed income, global equities, public and private markets, complex derivative products);
  • Lead the production and continuous improvement of performance reports for internal stakeholders, including Client Solutions teams;
  • Design and oversee controls ensuring data integrity, governance and quality;
  • Develop, automate and optimize analytical and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI), models and data pipelines to support robust and scalable analyses;
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Client Solutions, Front Office, IT, Operations and Accounting) as a key partner for performance measurement expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related field;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in performance measurement or a related role;
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices in performance measurement and solid understanding of return calculation methodologies within a multi-asset environment;
  • Strong understanding of investments, portfolio construction and multi-asset benchmarking, with experience in performance attribution methodologies (Brinson, fixed income, multi-level attribution) strongly preferred; knowledge of private markets (IRR, TVPI, J-curve) and derivatives is an asset;
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous analyses independently and within deadlines;
  • Advanced programming and business intelligence skills (SQL, Python, Power BI); experience with market tools such as Bloomberg and Eagle is an asset;
  • CIPM designation strongly preferred; CFA or FRM designation is an asset;
  • This position requires bilingualism at the professional level to provide support to clients and employees located outside of Quebec or who require services in a language other than French.
