Reporting to the Partner, Route Profitability & Reporting, the Route Profitability & Reporting Analyst is responsible for maintaining the route financial performance (Flight Profitability) system. The individual will be responsible for the load and validation of incoming data, the validation of route results and for providing support and training to users. The individual will work with end users to develop dashboards and KPIs that are relevant to the business.

This position is ideal for a person who is interested in understanding revenue and cost relations within the airline.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to produce on a monthly basis the Flight Profitability results:
    • Load data from source systems
    • Error checking, validation and troubleshooting of data
    • Validating revenue and cost allocations
    • Verify route results
  • Work with other branches to maintain data feeds to Flight Profitability.
  • Manage feeds to downstream applications, providing them with data contained in the Flight Profitability system.
  • Produce monthly executive Flight Profitability reports.
  • Provide Flight Profitability end user support and training.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities; evaluating data sources/requirements, improving revenue and cost allocation rules, etc.
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, KPIs for end user reporting
  • Maintain Flight Profitability documentation.
  • Lead discussions with the vendor for best practice reporting, cost allocation methodology and route profitability visualization.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Evaluations group by:
    • Performing benchmarking studies with other carriers: labour productivity, unit costs and profitability analysis.
    • Conducting route profitability financial evaluations pertaining to new services, code share agreements, joint ventures and schedule changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a relevant field of study (Finance, Accounting, Business)
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to shift priorities on an ad hoc basis and with a keen interest in Information Technology and Finance type work.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Very detail oriented.
  • Complete proficiency with MS Office is required.
  • Experience with BI tools, data visualizations, data analysis.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines with limited supervision, and to manage own time.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
