We are seeking a QA Process & Governance Analyst (CoE) to strengthen Air Canada’s Quality Management Office (QMO) by driving governance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This role ensures adherence to QA best practices, conducts audits, monitors performance, and champions continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives to elevate quality standards enterprise-wide.
The QA Process & Governance Analyst will report to the QA Manager within the QMO, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide quality frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Governance & Compliance
- Define, evolve, and maintain QA governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
- Conduct SDLC audits for compliance with internal standards, accessibility (WCAG, ADA, AODA), and data privacy (GDPR, PCI).
- Establish and monitor KPIs and quality metrics for process effectiveness, delivery performance, accessibility, and test data fulfillment.
- Drive Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives to optimize QA processes, reduce defect leakage, and improve upstream quality.
- Develop and maintain QA scorecards, dashboards, and reporting for leadership visibility.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during compliance reviews.
- Promote a culture of quality, accessibility, and accountability across IT and business stakeholders.
Accessibility
- Operate and maintain the Accessibility Center of Excellence (CoE) to uphold accessibility conformance across IT systems and digital platforms.
- Define and enforce accessibility standards, guidelines, and best practices in alignment with WCAG and Air Canada’s policies.
- Monitor accessibility compliance, support risk registers, and oversee remediation plans for identified issues.
- Conduct accessibility audits and assessments across web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
- Plan and deliver accessibility training programs for IT staff and project teams.
- Support procurement reviews to ensure third-party solutions meet accessibility requirements.
Test Data Management
- Manage intake and prioritization of test data requests from SDLC teams and business units.
- Provision test data promptly to meet project timelines and critical deadlines.
- Design and implement automated solutions for test data generation and provisioning.
- Develop self-service capabilities for teams to access test data independently.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, masking, and anonymization standards.
- Collaborate with QA, development, infrastructure, and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Monitor and report on test data fulfillment metrics and turnaround times.
- Support environment setup and integration of test data into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration & Training
- Create training materials and facilitate workshops on QA governance, accessibility, data management, and performance measurement.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for QA processes, audits, accessibility, and data provisioning.
- Partner with DevOps and automation teams to ensure governance and accessibility alignment in CI/CD pipelines.
Technical Requirements
- Strong knowledge of QA governance frameworks, SDLC processes, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.x/3.0, ADA, AODA), and data privacy compliance (GDPR, PCI).
- Experience with QA tools (JIRA, Confluence, Xray), accessibility testing tools (JAWS, NVDA), and TDM platforms (Delphix, GenRocket).
- Proficiency in SQL, database management, and automation scripting (Selenium, Playwright).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps environments, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Ability to analyze quality, accessibility, and test data metrics to produce actionable insights.
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in QA governance, process management, or compliance.
- Proven experience in SDLC audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Certifications preferred: ISTQB Advanced, QA Governance, Agile/DevOps, or audit-related certifications.
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
