About the Company

Our client is a well-established company specializing in commercial, industrial and institutional painting services since 1985. With over 5,000 completed projects, the organization continues to grow and evolve toward greater financial, operational and digital maturity.

To support this growth, we are seeking a Financial Controller who will play a key role within the organization, contributing both strategically and operationally while working closely with leadership and internal stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Accounting Management
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports and management reporting in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Cash Flow Management & Financial Performance
  • Manage and monitor cash flow operations to maintain optimal liquidity and working capital.
  • Develop, maintain and oversee cash flow forecasts on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Conduct financial analyses to provide insights and recommendations regarding business performance, financial trends, risks and opportunities.
Budgeting, Forecasting & KPI Management
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Partner with department leaders to align financial planning with organizational objectives.
  • Develop, implement and manage financial KPIs, dashboards and performance ratios.
Project Accounting & Process Improvement
  • Supervise project accounting activities, including contract financial tracking, project costing, revenue monitoring and commission reporting.
  • Strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency through automation, process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement measures to safeguard company assets, reduce risk and ensure compliance.
Audit, Tax & Regulatory Compliance
  • Coordinate relationships with external auditors and support audit activities.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, working closely with external tax advisors when required.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, reporting obligations and legal requirements.
Leadership & Strategic Contribution
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Manage employee performance through coaching, guidance, development and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in strategic planning, succession planning and business growth initiatives alongside senior leadership.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial data, strategic initiatives and sensitive business information.

Requested skills

(CPA designation considered a strong asset)

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
(Construction or project-based industry experience considered an asset)

Languages: Advanced French and English bilingualism
