The GIS Technician will be responsible for all facets of basemap creation and data collection for our existing and perspective Utility clients. What You'll Do Here: Complete topographic map deliverables for various types of utility projects using various software packages (e.g. AutoCAD, Microstation, ESRI) Quality check data for mistakes. Data Collection of various types: LiDAR, GPS, etc. Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging. Performs other duties as required. What You Bring to the Team: Minimum of one to two years of ESRI and AutoDesk experience. Post-secondary education in GIS, Geomatics or Field Technologies is preferred. Strong proficiency with ESRI and AutoCAD software and experience customizing workflows. Must be proficient with Microstation and GIS. Experience with utility projects considered an asset. Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel) Good understanding of how to read site plans. Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment. Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
