What is the Opportunity?

Aecons Corporate Affairs team leads award-winning strategic external communications initiatives, campaigns and materials in support of Aecons overall public relations and reputation management strategy. With a roster of exciting infrastructure projects across Canada and beyond, we lead the way for Aecon when it comes to social and digital media, issues management, project and stakeholder communications, media relations and executive communications. Are you an organized, resourceful and creative team player with a passion for dynamic and strategic social media campaigns? Do you have a passion for communicating across social media platforms utilizing creative multimedia? Were looking for your positive attitude and desire to succeed as a member of our team in the Social Media Coordinator role.

What Youll Do Here:

  • Support the Corporate Affairs team in coordinating a broad range of creative initiatives with a special focus on social media.
  • Coordinate and complete project site visits to capture compelling video to be communicated externally on a broad variety of platforms.
  • Coordinate podcast recordings and create compelling social media assets to promote and expand listenership.
  • Organize social media content calendar and develop/evolve LinkedIn Newsletter.
  • Monitor, research, identify and implement new/trending social media tools and platforms to optimize Aecons engagement with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team to coordinate, plan and execute dynamic strategies and campaigns, including a focus on talent acquisition and geotargeted content.
  • Research and curate industry and company-related social listening reports.
  • Support training and engagement by developing social media modules and primers.
  • Support issues management and intake of public inquiries received through social media, shared inboxes, ethics hotline, and by phone.
  • Assist with and coordinate meetings for management, team site visits, and document best practices and lessons learned.
  • Administrative tasks such as file/digital library organization, expense reports, database updates, tracking metrics, and processing supply orders.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • University degree or college diploma in communications, public relations, digital media or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of corporate or agency experience.
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience using other photo and video editing software including Canva.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Understand and interpret high-level business and commercial concepts/objectives to design creative assets.
  • Strong written/oral communications skills and social media savvy approach with a storytelling lens.
  • Passion for effective social media campaigns.
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships and responsibly handle confidential information.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work individually or within a team environment and be receptive to direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a team-first attitude and strong work-ethic.
  • French language skills considered an asset.
