What is the Opportunity?
The SAP Functional Lead (FICO) is responsible for enhancing, supporting, and developing all aspects of SAP Finance (FI/CO) at Aecon, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA Finance capabilities. The lead will partner with key stakeholders on projects and business initiatives to maximize the effectiveness of end-to-end finance processes (record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash) while ensuring the overall operational health, controls, and roadmap of the SAP Finance landscape.
What Youll Do Here:
- Lead functional design, configuration, and support for SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) across core processes such as recordtoreport, procuretopay, and ordertocash
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct workshops, and translate business needs into scalable SAP solutions
- Act as the primary SAP FICO functional lead for enhancements, upgrades, and operational support, ensuring system stability and performance
- Configure and support SAP Finance modules including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, Funds Management, and Controlling
- Support finance integrations across SAP and nonSAP systems, working closely with technical teams on SAP BTP, CPI, APIs, and interfaces
- Lead and participate in unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure highquality delivery
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP FICO production issues, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors as needed
- Develop and maintain functional documentation, solution designs, and process flows
- Contribute to SAP roadmap planning, release management, cutover activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance, knowledge sharing, and occasional enduser training to support adoption of new SAP Finance capabilities
What You Bring to the Team:
- 58+ years of SAP experience, with strong depth in SAP Finance (FI/CO)
- Handson experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Finance, including knowledge of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and S/4HANA finance simplifications
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA FICO capabilities, including Advanced Financial Closing (AFC), Cloud for Treasury and Risk Management (Private Edition), and Cloud for Cash Management (Private Edition), with a focus on financial close efficiency, liquidity visibility, and treasury process modernization.
- Experience working with SAP Fiori, embedded analytics, and modern SAP Finance functionality (e.g., parallel ledgers, document splitting)
- Working knowledge of SAP integration concepts, including SAP BTP, CPI, APIs, and financerelated interfaces
- Experience supporting integrations with related SAP modules (MM, SD, HCM, PS) and thirdparty applications such as Concur, tax, or banking systems
- Ability to lead functional design, write clear specifications, and support SAP initiatives endtoend
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholdermanagement skills
Nice to Have
- SAP FICO certification
- Exposure to treasury, cash management, or financial planning tools
- Experience in construction, engineering, or projectbased industries

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $115,000-$125,000
