Aecon recrute pour le projet dagrandissement du terminal de Contrecur du Port de Montral, le plus important projet dexpansion portuaire de lhistoire du Canada.

Ce projet de construction nationale augmentera la capacit de manutention des conteneurs de 60 %, contribuant faonner lavenir du commerce canadien. Ce que vous ferez ici :

  • Agir comme rfrence SST sur le chantier et soutenir la direction de projet dans la mise en uvre des meilleures pratiques en sant et scurit.
  • Dployer, appliquer et assurer la conformit du Programme de prvention SST conformment la CNESST, aux exigences contractuelles et aux standards corporatifs.
  • Identifier, analyser et contrler les risques critiques associs aux travaux lourds (gnie civil, travaux maritimes, levage, excavation, circulation dquipements, coactivit).
  • Effectuer des inspections terrain quotidiennes, audits SST et observations comportementales, et assurer le suivi des actions correctives.
  • Enquter sur les incidents, accidents et quasi-accidents, analyser les causes racines et recommander des mesures prventives durables.
  • Animer et coordonner les comits SST, rencontres toolbox, formations et sances de sensibilisation pour les quipes chantier et sous-traitants.
  • Assurer une prsence terrain proactive afin de promouvoir une culture zro accident .
  • Collaborer troitement avec les quipes projet, ingnierie, construction et sous-traitants pour intgrer la SST la planification des travaux.
  • Produire les rapports SST, indicateurs de performance (KPI) et statistiques exigs par la direction et les parties prenantes.
  • Agir comme coach et mentor auprs des conseillers SST plus juniors lorsque requis.

Ce que vous apportez lquipe :

  • 7 10 ans dexprience en sant-scurit sur des projets majeurs de construction, idalement en gnie civil, infrastructures lourdes, projets portuaires ou industriels.
  • Diplme en sant et scurit au travail, gnie, environnement ou domaine connexe.
  • Excellente connaissance de la lgislation SST qubcoise (CNESST) et des normes applicables aux chantiers de grande envergure.
  • Exprience dmontre en environnement chantier complexe avec forte coactivit et sous-traitance multiple.
  • aCertifications SST pertinentes (ASP Construction, secourisme, cadenassage, espaces clos, etc.).
  • Fort leadership terrain, autorit naturelle, capacit dinfluence et excellent jugement.
  • Excellentes habilets en communication et en rdaction de rapports.
  • Bilinguisme franais requis, anglais fonctionnel un atout.
  • Disponibilit pour travailler temps plein sur le chantier.

What Is The Opportunity?

Aecon is hiring for the Port of Montral Contrecur Terminal Expansion the largest port expansion project in Canadian history. This nationbuilding project is increasing container capacity by 60% and shaping the future of Canadian trade. If youre looking to work on complex marine and heavy civil construction alongside industry leaders, this is where your impact truly matters.

What You Will Do Here:

  • Act as the Health & Safety (H&S) reference on the construction site and support project management in implementing best practices in health and safety.
  • Deploy, apply, and ensure compliance with the H&S Prevention Program in accordance with CNESST requirements, contractual obligations, and corporate standards.
  • Identify, analyze, and control critical risks associated with heavy construction work (civil engineering, marine works, lifting operations, excavation, equipment traffic, concurrent activities).
  • Conduct daily field inspections, H&S audits, and behavioral observations, and ensure follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; analyze root causes; and recommend sustainable preventive measures.
  • Lead and coordinate H&S committees, toolbox meetings, training sessions, and awareness activities for site teams and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a proactive presence in the field to promote a zero accident culture.
  • Work closely with project, engineering, construction, and subcontractor teams to integrate H&S considerations into work planning.
  • Produce H&S reports, performance indicators (KPIs), and statistics required by management and stakeholders.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to more junior H&S advisors when required.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in health and safety on major construction projects, ideally in civil engineering, heavy infrastructure, port, or industrial projects.
  • Degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, environment, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of Qubec H&S legislation (CNESST) and standards applicable to large-scale construction sites.
  • Proven experience working in complex construction environments with high levels of concurrent activities and multiple subcontractors.
  • Relevant H&S certifications (ASP Construction, first aid, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, etc.).
  • Strong leadership in the field, natural authority, influencing skills, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong report-writing abilities.
  • Required fluency in French; functional English is an asset.
  • Availability to work full-time on the construction site.
