Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canadas #1 utility construction provider and were looking for a Project designer Co-op to help us get there! Note: This is a 12 month contract beginning in August 2024. What Youll Do Here: Complete design calculations and drawings that satisfy all the applicable code and regulation requirements. Assist in the preparation of schedules, estimates and construction packages. Conduct surveys and worksite visits of project area. Assist with permitting requirements, submissions and reviews. Support with the preparation of reports regarding the status and results of completed and in-progress design projects. Prepare technical reports as required by the client and project team. Utilize various design software and tools. Liaises with clients, contractors, field staff. Performs other duties as required. What You Bring to the Team: Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Registration as an E.I.T. with the P.E.O is an asset. CET certified or CET eligible is an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals. Experience with Auto CAD software, Microstation, and 3-D software an asset. Ability to travel for projects. Proven ability to take initiative and leadership. Strong problem solving skills.
