This is how Aecon Utilities is committed to delivering projects. Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canadas #1 utility construction provider and were looking for a Lineperson to help us get there! What You Will Do Here Assist and work with experienced Journeypersons in job safety planning and work execution. Perform line Construction, Troubleshooting and maintenance in a safe efficient manner utilizing de-energized, live line hot stick or live line barehand techniques on voltages up to and including 44KV. Safe operation of heavy and tracked equipment including Radial Arm Diggers, Line Trucks, Cranes, and all terrain equipment as required. Provide support to client demands which could include emergency calls and planned overtime. Operate and maintain such hand tools as may be required for the job including blocks, grips, jacks, hot line tools and cover up, etc. Maintain personal and group safety at all times, and exercise appropriate caution when working with tension for rigging, on or close to energized equipment. Respond to unscheduled outages as the result of weather, component failures, vehicular accidents, etc. Be a positive team member through open communication and active participation in crew tasks. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Able to travel and work out of town in Ontario as required. Availability to travel and work on projects across Canada an asset. What You Bring to The Team Power Lineperson Apprenticeship and Trade Certificate. Utility experience constructing, installing, and maintaining overhead, underground, transmission, and distribution systems. Thorough knowledge of Provincial Electrical Utilities Regulations and provincial specific Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Codes an asset. Demonstrated ability effectively work with a desire to provide excellent customer service. Valid Drivers License G and reliable transportation along with DZ. Ability to climb towers and poles, work at heights, and work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time. Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment or independently with supervision. Experience with UWPC will be an advantage. Strong interpersonal, team participation and communication skills. Be a champion of safety, inclusion and diversity.
