What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Civil is a market leader with a self-perform competitive advantage and strong local presence in key markets. We take pride in helping to expand and improve Canadas infrastructure and transportation networks, and were ready to build the future of our country. At Aecon, we aim to be the partner of choice for end-to-end delivery of civil infrastructure projects. As such, we are currently seeking our next Buyer to support our Civil East division based out of our Toronto Head Office.

The successful candidate will be a key contributor to a broad range of supply chain and procurement initiatives, supporting various projects. The Buyer will be responsible for all procurement-related activities, ensuring internal client satisfaction through timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality, while also tracking open orders.

What Youll Do Here:

  • Accountable for the project procurement plan and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Manage procurement processes within SAP
  • Negotiate low-value contracts with vendors and service providers
  • Ensure adherence to Aecon's preferred supplier sourcing strategy
  • Drive toward zero exceptions in the procure-to-pay process
  • Resolve price, delivery, account assignment, material, and service-related issues in real time
  • Participate in and support the development of vendor improvement plans

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced communication skills demonstrated through cross-functional meetings, technical discussions, and vendor interactions
  • Program management experience considered an asset
  • Ability to interpret process flow charts and understand data movement across systems
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Solid research skills with a continuous learning mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP (procure-to-pay)

Reason for Vacancy: New

Pay Range: $70,000-$90,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
