THE ROLE:
THE PERSON:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and duplicate customer reported issues related to Windows and Linux OS (more focused on Linux).
- Support all phases of each assigned issue, including silicon, board, and software bring up, productionand sustaining.
- Drive resolution of all customer technical issues by providing direct support to field engineers andworking closely with other departments including S/W Engineering, H/W Engineering and Marketing (as needed).
- Perform debug and diagnosis of hardware and software issues on customer platforms (more focused on SW/driver perspective).
- Run competitive performance analysis for AMD based systems based on customer requirements.
- Participate in conference calls with customers to communicate status and updates.
- Document procedures and methods to clarify solutions for customer issues.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive Graphics Architecture knowledge.
- Extensive Multimedia knowledge.
- Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills.
- Excellent knowledge in AMD internal debug methodologies and tools would be an advantage.
- Experience working in a fast-paced matrixed technical organization and multi-site environment.
- Experienced in C# or C++ Programming and driver development.
- Familiar with at least one of Ubuntu Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise, openSUSE, Android
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
