The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra-municipal organization exercising its jurisdiction over the territory of Québec located north of the 55th parallel, is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the position of:

Logistics Technician
(Permanent position, full-time)

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Residual Material Management, the Logistics Technician will support environmental operations and technical assistance in residual material management for the Northern Villages. The main responsibilities include:

  • Planning and organizing shipments of materials, supplies, and equipment for environmental operations and technical assistance in residual material management for the Northern Villages.
  • Collaborate with members of KRG’s Environment team, municipal staff, and the marine carrier to optimize the residual material management logistics chain.
  • Coordinating with KRG’s Supply Chain & Logistics Section to manage booking schedules and delivery logistics, particularly for seasonal operations related to the residual material retrograde shipments from the Northern villages.
  • Preparing and reviewing transport documentation, including hazardous material shipment manifests to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Tracking inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and proper handling, especially in the context of environmental technical assistance to Northern Villages.
  • Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to northern logistics.
  • Identifying gaps and proposing improvements to logistics processes for environmental or residual material management initiatives and existing programs, with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.
  • Travelling to marine terminals or Northern Villages when required to assist with delivery coordination, inspection of shipments, or on-site support.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of environmental programs in Nunavik

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of relevant experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge or experience in maritime transport (important asset);
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges of working in northern or remote regions (asset);
  • Willingness to travel to remote communities (Nunavik).

Workplace: Hybrid

Salary: Minimum of $52,481 and maximum of $89,256 per year (Class 8)

Benefits: Travel expenses and accommodation while working in Nunavik

Simplified Pension Plan: 6.25% employer, 4% employee;

Group Insurance;

Vacation: 20 days;

Statutory Holidays: 20 days, including 10 during the Christmas holidays.
