The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $9275.70 to $16,268.70, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
We are a neighborhood school. At McMillan Elementary School we believe that the school, the family, and community all share the responsibility for the growth and development of our children. As a school, we value collaboration, belonging, joy and service.The successful candidate may be required to complete LSS Essentials, a series of 3 workshops facilitated by the LSS Department.
Education & Experience
- Major/minor or diploma in Inclusive Education (aka Special Education)
- Practicum and/or work experience in Inclusive Education at the Elementary level
- Case management experience required
- Training and experience with Level B Assessments (ie. KBIT2/KTEA III)
- Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification
- Eligible for B.C. Certification
- Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports

- Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives
- Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
