THE ROLEAs our Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in providing an excellent customer experience in the military messes. As a Bar Supervisor you will supervise, train and schedule the bar staff. You will work bar shifts as necessary, maintain inventory of bar stock, order supplies and assist in the set-up and take down of social and military functions. You will operate a Point of Sales system, prepare reports on cash/inventory transactions such as daily sales reports (DSR), assist in creating bar menus and promotions and ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations.
This position is unique in that you work the front of the bar while also gaining valuable experience on the administration side of the daily bar operations. Each day provides different experiences, and it is a great opportunity to increase your bar knowledge and broaden your bar operations experience. You will build a rapport with the military community and be part of various military traditions. The Messes are the centre of social life on our base where military members come to socialize and build camaraderie with their fellow members and military community.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Hospitality or Food Management, or related field and some years of experience in hospitality, food and beverage service
(OR High school diploma and several years of experience in beverage sector or a related field)
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (BC)
Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
Food Handling Certification, as required
Valid Driver’s Licence, an asset
