Sr. Business Systems Analysis Lead to oversee functional requirements and process design for S/4HANA transformation for our financial services client
Duration: 12 Months (+12 Month Extension)
Location: Toronto (Hybrid, 3x/week onsite)
Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analysis Lead to join their S/4HANA transformation program, reporting to the Program Director. This role will lead a team of business analysts across 5 work packages, ensuring comprehensive requirements management, process design, and functional specifications for the transformation. The successful candidate will bridge business and IT, ensuring the program delivers on insurance operations requirements including premium collections, claims processing, and commission calculations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate a team of business analysts across all program work packages
Establish and maintain requirements management standards using JIRA for user stories and epics
Drive process mapping and optimization for insurance operations transitioning to S/4HANA
Ensure IFRS 17 compliance requirements are properly captured and implemented
Coordinate functional design sessions between business stakeholders and technical teams
Oversee creation of functional specifications for SAP FI/CO modules and integrations
Lead requirements traceability from business needs through to testing and deployment
Facilitate workshops with Finance, Actuarial, and Operations teams across Canada and Europe
Manage functional cutover planning and business readiness activities
Partner with OCM team on training needs analysis and documentation requirements
Must Haves:
12+ years as a Senior Business Analyst with insurance industry experience
Deep functional knowledge of SAP Finance (FI/CO) modules and insurance-specific configurations
Experience leading BA teams on large-scale S/4HANA implementations
Strong understanding of insurance business processes: premium billing, claims, commissions
Expertise in requirements management using JIRA and managing user stories/epics
Experience with process mapping and business process reengineering
Knowledge of financial reporting requirements and regulatory compliance (IFRS)
Proven ability to translate complex business needs into system requirements
Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones
Nice to Haves:
IFRS 17 implementation experience
SAP certification in Finance modules
Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Bilingual (English/French) capabilities
CBAP or equivalent BA certification
