Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks using Python with client in pension fund

Contract: 6 Months + Extension

Hours: 37.5

Work Model: 4 days in office (Downtown, Toronto)

Must Haves

• 5+ years in QA Automation and software quality engineering
• Strong experience with Python and Pytest for automated testing.
• Proficient in SQL scripting for data validation and backend testing.
• Backend Data Validation & Functional Testing :

- Validating inputs/outputs, performing data checks.

- Experience with Pandas, SQL, and/or API testing (Postman).

- Comfortable with validating data across different systems.

• Functional Testing :

- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive functional test cases based on business requirements, BRDs, and user stories

- Perform end-to-end testing across systems to validate business workflows and data integrity

- Analyze requirements and identify gaps, ambiguities, and edge cases early in the SDLC

- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to clarify acceptance criteria and expected behavior

• Hands-on expertise with test frameworks, regression testing, and automation tools
• Solid understanding of Agile SDLC and shift-left testing practices

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in financial services or enterprise technology environments
• Exposure to CI/CD integration for automated testing pipelines
• Familiarity with REST API testing frameworks
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience mentoring teams in automation best practices

Responsibilities
