Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Java Developer (10+ years) to deliver Open Banking Core solutions using Java, SpringBoot, and cloud containerization on GCP

Join a high-performing engineering team driving key initiatives within a large-scale Open Banking platform expansion. This role contributes expert-level backend development across Java, SpringBoot, REST APIs, and GCP Kubernetes deployments supporting diverse client use cases. The position offers visibility within core engineering teams focused on mobile and web platforms integral to next-generation financial experiences.

Location Address: Toronto/Hybrid- 3-4 days in office

Contract Duration: 06/22/2026 to 10/31/2026 (High Chance of Extension)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Skills/Experience/Competencies:

• 10+ years of work experience with Java & SpringBoot and as a Java Developer
• 7+ years experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MongoDB
• 7+ years of experience with Redis or caching strategies
• 7+ years of experience deploying and managing containerized applications on GCP using Kubernetes
• 7+ years of experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• 7+ years of experience with REST API design
• Have knowledge in Object Oriented and Functional Design
• Have used modern JS toolsets (ES6, Typescript, Babel, Lerna, Jest, Protractor)

Nice to have:

1. Have 5 + years of work experience as a React.js and Node.js developer. You have experience building scalable, enterprise level technology stacks with Javascript but ideally with a broad set of tools
2. Have experience working on projects that involve Application Security like oAuth2 and/or SSO
3. Have well rounded knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt your experience to new and evolving environments

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and guidance to engineering teams
• Assist in developing coding standards and testing approaches
• Collaborate with the Architect to realize technical vision and direction
• Offer expert advice to stakeholders on complex development issues
• Review solution designs and related code for quality and alignment
• Implement security scanning and remediation best practices
• Mentor team members on technical knowledge and coding best practices
