Permanent Guidewire Architect

Hybrid - 2 days a week moving to 4 days

Downtown Toronto

L10 (Solution Architect) or L11 (Full Stack Architect)

It is an independent contributor role that will support the Insurance Guidewire Policy Center & Billing Center Product Group helping evolve our core Guidewire platform for Home, Auto & Small Business Insurance.

The primary focus is creating architecture solutions for business projects with some contributions to longer term tech strategy as well. Looking for an experienced technical Architect with:

• Experience and good knowledge of the Guidewire Insurance Suite specifically the Guidewire Cloud Platform
• Knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center and Billing Center
• Good understanding of Guidewire Cloud Platform best practices & patterns, key features and capabilities, prior experience integrating Guidewire to non-Guidewire products
• Ideally prior experience migrating from Guidewire Classic to Guidewire Cloud Platform, nice to have
• Must have prior Solution Architecture experience - ideally 5+ years working in large organizations and creating solutions for large & complex projects
• Great communication & negotiation skills. Can communicate with both technical and non-technical audience
• Takes initiative and leads problems to resolution engaging appropriate partners vs waiting to be told what to do
• Can manage multiple competing priorities and manage expectations accordingly
• Understanding of AWS & Azure public clouds is nice to have

Must Haves:

• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)
• 10+ years relevant experience developing a variety of platforms
• 7+ years of solution architecture experience ideally in the Insurance industry
• Demonstrated experience with owning and leading architectural solutions in a complex environment
• Strong knowledge of Guidewire Suite, including Guidewire Cloud Platform, Policy Center, Billing Center, ideally with relevant certifications with prior experience integrating with Guidewire
• Understanding of DevSecOps and experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Pair programming and / or Test-Driven Development is an asset (i.e., ability to review or provide feedback to Unit, Integration and Functional Tests)
• Familiarity with SAFe agile methodology an asset
• Knowledge of AWS/Azure an asset
