Our financial industry client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (5+ years) to build scalable low-latency trading systems using Core Java and microservices architecture

Join a high-performing Equities Technology team solving complex financial systems challenges and delivering trading solutions for global markets. This role focuses on designing and implementing next-generation Cash Equities platforms supporting high-throughput, real-time order management. The successful candidate will contribute to globally distributed development efforts driving future-state architecture modernization.

Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, Working Hours: EST

Must Haves

• 5+ years in software engineering of low-latency or real-time systems
• Strong Core Java and microservices experience, including Zero GC architecture design
• Proficiency with Linux/UNIX command line and FIX protocol within Cash Equities environments
• Experience using DevOps tooling such as Groovy and Jenkins CI/CD for deployment automation
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline

Nice to Have

• Experience with container runtimes like Podman or Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
• Familiarity with message passing systems such as Kafka or Aeron
• Background in data-driven optimizations through profiling and metrics collection

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic FIX client-facing and market-facing trading platforms
• Collaborate with product owners and business sponsors to prioritize requirements
• Enhance test and deployment automation frameworks supporting continuous delivery
• Contribute to design and implementation of a high-throughput order management system
• Communicate effectively with global business and technology teams across multiple geographies
