Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior DevOps Integration Engineer to provide Enterprise Web & Elastic Platform Support.

Background:

Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to provide operational support and technical leadership for an enterprise-grade web and search application built on Elastic. This role is critical to ensuring production stability while also advancing modernization initiatives, including decoupling deprecated components and conducting a proof of concept (PoC) using AI/ML capabilities to enhance enterprise search functionality. The successful candidate will support web application integration, Elastic platform deployment, production troubleshooting, and technical mentoring of the team. This engagement will ensure continuity of operations, prepare for upcoming platform upgrades, and explore innovative search enhancements.

Tasks:

Web Application Integration & Support

• Support integration of the enterprise web application into production environments.
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
• Document deployment processes, configurations, and operational support procedures.
• Mentor team members on troubleshooting approaches, workflows, and best practices.

Elastic Deployment & Support

• Deploy, configure, and optimize Elastic Stack components.
• Tune Elastic for performance, relevance, and stability.
• Document deployment steps, tuning decisions, and upgrade planning.
• Provide guidance on Elastic architecture and ongoing operational management.

App Search Decoupling & Modernization

• Lead efforts to decouple App Search from Elastic in preparation for deprecation.
• Identify and implement replacement approaches to maintain functionality.
• Prepare the environment for upcoming Elastic upgrades.
• Produce documentation outlining strategies, implementation, and impacts.
• Mentor team members to ensure knowledge transfer and future readiness.

AI/ML Proof of Concept

• Lead a PoC leveraging Elastic’s AI/ML capabilities.
• Evaluate feasibility, benefits, and risks of AI-based search enhancements.
• Deliver findings, documentation, and technical recommendations.
• Coach and mentor team members on AI/ML features and their implications for enterprise search.
