Description
Our GTA Based, Municipal Government Client requires the services of a Senior Project Manager to lead the Unified Communications multi-year capital project to replace its two on-premises Unified Communications (UC) infrastructures with a cloud-based solution.
ROLE:
The Project Manager will manage a project team to a) develop an implementation roadmap for transitioning from on-premises PBX (VoIP) to a modern cloud-based
telephony that includes softphone, common area hard phones, paging systems and other automated systems and b) decommission the on-premise VOIP infrastructure.
This role will also manage the upgrade of the UC platform to version 15 to ensure continued supported operations while managing the planning and implementation
of the migration to a cloud solution by Q2 2028.
This project is a priority initiative for the Technology Services as per the Unified Communications Roadmap requiring replacement of on-premise services with
cloud-based services to realize reduction in on-going costs.
MUST HAVE:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing.
Experience required managing all aspects of enterprise-wide IT projects in complex, multi-departmental environments (including budget and timeline management, scope management, estimating and managing project resources, risk management, issues management, organizational change management, timely decision-making, critical path identification, etc.).
Experience managing large-scale telephony and collaboration infrastructure projects involving VoIP networks, SIP-based calling, Contact Centre platforms, Cisco Unified Communications platforms, and Microsoft Teams telephony solutions across multi-site enterprise environments.
Knowledge of on-prem and cloud based Unified Communications systems including Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Teams voice, Direct Routing as a Service, Operator Connect, and other VoIP technologies, and enterprise telephony.
Knowledge of architecture & topology design, including advanced routing/switching; high availability; VPN technologies including IPsec, SSL VPNs; Session Boarder Controllers, private networks, and SIP Trunking.
Knowledge in networking devices, switches and network circuits, including Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet; Zero-trust, segmentation strategies; DNS/DHCP hardening and NAC; MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) network circuits and software defined networks.
Proficiency in using project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) and techniques to develop project plans for software development projects.
