Location Address: Toronto- Hybrid - 2 days in office

Contract Duration: 12 months (Chance of Extension)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

Business group: Global Technology Enterprise Platforms (GTEP)

Project: This project aims to develop an enterprise release management process by leveraging ServiceNow Digital Product Release Module and redesign custom application workflows from an legacy ServiceNow instance such as Security Advisory Management, Threat Risk Assessment and other applications.

We’re offering an opportunity for a Business System Analyst to play a key role in a high impact, fast moving project that directly shapes business outcomes. As part of this team, the BSA will join a collaborative environment where their insights, requirements expertise, and process mindset will directly influence solution design and delivery. Contributes to the overall success of the Service Management organization by enabling, governing, and continuously improving enterprise Release Management and DevOps processes using ServiceNow. The role is responsible for supporting Digital Product Release (DPR), DevOps tool integrations, and ServiceNow custom applications and integrations, ensuring solutions are delivered in alignment with enterprise governance, risk, and compliance standards.

Typical Day in Role:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business/functional requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

• Act as the liaison between business teams and technical teams, translating business needs into functional/technical specifications, process flows, use cases/user stories.

• Lead requirements gathering sessions and assist in the creation of user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for development teams.

• Analyze and improve business processes using Lean methodologies, focusing on eliminating waste, improving efficiency, and ensuring value delivery.

• Work within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) to manage and prioritize backlogs, facilitate sprint planning, and ensure timely delivery of business solutions.

• Facilitate and support daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.

• Collaborate to evolve DevOps practices to ensure smooth deployment processes, continuous integration, and delivery (CI/CD).

• Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions to enhance business operations and systems.

• Conduct system testing and validation, ensuring that solutions meet business needs and requirements.

• Provide post-implementation support and assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution.

• Support and operationalize ServiceNow Digital Product Release (DPR) as the enterprise platform for release planning, coordination, and governance.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

1. Proven experience (8+ years) as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role with business process modeling, requirements documentation and system design

2. 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience on ServiceNow platform preferably in Release Management (DPR) and ServiceNow Custom Scoped Application with exposure to DevOps toolchains and automation workflows

3. 5+ years of experience producing high-quality documentation for integrations or technical solutions

4. CSA certified system administration is must have

5. Strong experience working in agile/Lean or hybrid environment collaborating in all stages of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of ITIL foundation and Release and Change Management processess

• Experience with system integration and data analysis is a plus.

• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

• Project Management knowledge to work with large & complex project teams

• Business Analysis Certification СВАР® | IIBA®

Education:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Best VS. Average Candidate: The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ServiceNow Digital Product Release implementation with DevOps tool integrations and Custom Applications modules.
