Duration: 12 months (possibility to extend and convert to FTE)
Work Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - In office on Thursdays)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hour/ week - 9 am - 5pm
Position Title: Business Analyst - Expert
Line of Business: Digital and Direct Marketing (DDM) - is responsible for digital and direct marketing programs. Within DDM, the Marketing Data and Advanced Analytics team (MDAA) team is responsible for supporting direct marketing efforts by creating a culture of data-driven decision making across the Bank.
Project: The resource will provide analytical support to various deposits onboarding, cross-selling, and engagement campaigns and programs.
Team details: The group consists of 40 people currently. The team is supportive, there is always someone available to help. The team communicates regularly and is in constant communication with their many business partners across the bank.
Job Description:
• The Senior Consultant is primarily responsible for ongoing and ad-hoc analytical support of deposits onboarding, cross-selling, and engagement campaigns and programs, including the delivery of detailed campaign post-analyses at the portfolio and channel of acquisition levels, as well as the identification of strategic insights and recommendations that will help drive the deposits key strategic business goals.
• Provides analysis and reporting to enable direct marketing strategy by engaging in campaign/journey leads evaluation, direct marketing campaign measurement, and client centric analyses for Deposits LOB.
• Responsible for understanding acquisition and retention programs and campaigns and the impact that they have for clients.
• Conducts deep-dive analytics to provide business insights to assist the Cards team in meeting their strategic goals.
• Familiarity with test vs. control and A/B testing campaign performance assessment methodology.
• Analyzes how campaigns drive client behaviour. Provide analytical support in the creation of journey stories and presentations to Senior Management, including monthly and quarterly business review presentations.
• Performs a consultative role in working with multiple card stakeholders and with cross-functional teams on card analytics.
• Understands and meets the needs of deposits stakeholders, including supporting with ad-hoc requests.
• Informs and updates leaders, team members and business partners on relevant information in a timely manner
• The individual will work as part of an Agile POD infrastructure.
Challenges of the role: There is the expectation to deliver quickly, this is a fast paced environment. The resource will need to manage multiple stakeholders at the same time. The contractor needs to be able to explain the results of his technical/analytical work to a non-technical audience, who on the other hand are experts in the credit card business. So, storytelling and previous experience in the banking industry are mandatory. Also, this individual will be part of an Agile POD, so previous experience working as part of an Agile team is highly desirable
Must haves:
1. Business Analyst experience - 8 years
2. Experience in a consultative role focusing on data analysis - 3 years
2. Previous experience in the Credit Card business (Banking or credit card industry)
3. Experience manipulating and synthesizing large volumes of complex information from multiple sources.
4. Strong knowledge of data modeling and statistical analysis techniques.
5. Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
6. Experience working on an Agile team.
7. SQL experience / SAS experience (build and run macros)
Nice to have:
1. Digital analytics experience (Adobe)
Interview: Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams. 1st round will be with the manager and the 2nd round with the Sr. Director. The manager may look to have a Marketing partner join the interview, depending on availability. Manager will focus on reviewing previous experience.
Education and Certifications: University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Math or other quantitative discipline.
