Description
Our large, enterprise Oil & Gas client is seeking a Senior Application Security Specialist to integrate secure development practices into retail, web, mobile, and cloud-native applications.
This is an initial contract until end of year with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be based in Calgary and agreeable to a full-time in office working model.
Must-Haves:
- 7+ years' in software development and application security
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and C#, with the ability to review complex codebases
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience implementing and securing authentication and authorization using AWS and Cognito
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices, software security principles, threat modeling, and common vulnerability classes.
- Experience reviewing application designs and identifying security risks.
- Familiarity with industry frameworks (OWASP ASVS, NIST SSDF, CIS Benchmarks).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience supporting and securing retail applications
- Experience with Cloudflare, including WAF rules, CDN protection, and traffic routing
AI may be used in evaluating candidates.
