Intermediate to Senior Network Designer to design and evolve IT and OT Cisco network infrastructure (21236)

Our large, enterprise Oil & Gas industry client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Network Designer to design and evolve IT and OT Cisco network infrastructure.

Join a technical team driving modern network design across a major oil & gas organization. This role focuses on scalable, resilient, and secure network architecture supporting enterprise operations and transformation initiatives. The position offers visibility across project teams and architecture stakeholders within a hybrid environment. Candidates will contribute to design leadership for complex, multi-site infrastructure programs.

Duration: 6-month initial contract with a possibility of extension

Working model: Hybrid in downtown Calgary (3 days onsite/ 2 days remote)

Must Haves

• 5+ years in Cisco network design, network engineering, or architecture for enterprise-scale environments
• Strong proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2/3 technologies such as VLANs, VXLAN, and MPLS
• Experience designing WAN, SD-WAN, and data center networking architectures
• Hands-on or design-level experience with network security including firewalls, segmentation, and access control
• Experience working in multi-site, hybrid, or cloud-connected environments

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with SDN and intent-based networking
• Exposure to network observability or telemetry platforms
• Background in large enterprise or service provider environments
• CCNP / CCIE certification
• Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable network solutions across LAN, WAN, and data center environments
• Produce HLD and LLD documentation supporting implementation teams
• Collaborate with architecture, project, and operations teams to deliver network initiatives
• Evaluate and recommend network technologies and vendors
• Ensure designs comply with enterprise security and architecture standards
• Support troubleshooting and optimization activities with operations teams
• Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation
