Job Description

Our client in the Media & Entertainment sector is seeking an Intermediate-Senior Roku Developer to support the continued development of a large consumer streaming application on the Roku platform.

The team recently rebuilt their Roku application as part of a major platform modernization effort. With the new architecture now in place, the focus is shifting toward continued feature development, UI enhancements, performance optimization, and expansion of the streaming experience.

This role will join a small, collaborative development team and contribute across the full Roku application stack, including UI development, media playback functionality, backend integrations, and application performance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Roku applications using BrightScript / BrighterScript
• Build and improve UI components and application features
• Support video playback functionality within streaming applications
• Integrate backend APIs and services
• Contribute to performance optimization and application stability
• Participate in testing and validation of application functionality
• Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams on feature delivery

Must-Have Skills

• 3-4+ years of Roku development experience
• Strong experience with BrightScript or BrighterScript
• Experience building or supporting streaming or media applications
• Experience working with video or audio players
• Ability to contribute across UI development, API integration, and performance improvements
