Infrastructure & Security Lead to support large cybersecurity project with client in the public sector

Location: Hamilton, ON

Onsite 2 days/week - Tues/Wed MANDATORY - the schedule will alternate between two days onsite, then three days, and back to two days, and so on.

Hours: 35hr/wk

Contract: 6 Months + extension

• Check in with the 5 team members and gather updates
• Follow up on incidents, outages, and open issues
• When something breaks, go talk to the right people and find out what’s going on
• Pull information together into summaries for the CISO
• Track audit tasks and make sure people are doing what they need to do
• Handle sensitive items and escalations
• Build quick PowerPoints/Excel trackers for status updates

• Experience leading infra or security operations
• Strong at chasing down answers and getting clarity
• Organized, detail‑oriented, reliable
• Excellent communicator (verbal + written)
• Good with PowerPoint and Excel
• Thick‑skinned, calm, and able to work with strong personalities
• Comfortable handling sensitive information
• Understands infra/security enough to ask the right questions (not to do the work)

• Experience supporting a CISO or senior IT leader
• Experience working with union + non‑union staff
• Familiarity with audits/compliance frameworks
• Comfortable coordinating technical SMEs
• Experience in incident coordination or ITIL-style workflows
• Ability to build SOPs or improve processes
