Our energy & resources client is seeking a Document Control Specialist (5+ years) to manage controlled document processes within oil & gas.

Join an established energy organization supporting high-visibility projects across operations and engineering teams. This role oversees end-to-end document lifecycle activities ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accessibility of controlled documents. The opportunity offers ownership in maintaining data integrity and workflow efficiency across complex, regulated environments.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years in document control within the oil & gas or energy sector
  • Hands-on experience with OpenText Content Server and controlled document repositories
  • Proficiency in metadata management, version control, and naming conventions for regulated records
  • Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety documentation
  • Post-secondary education in a related technical or administrative discipline

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting audit and inspection document readiness
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or network-based document control environments
  • Exposure to energy regulatory document standards and retention practices

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day document control activities ensuring timely receipt, review, processing, and issuance of controlled documents
  • Maintain document control logs, records, and tracking tools to ensure traceability and audit readiness
  • Process assigned Process Safety and Management of Change (MOC) requests including document intake, tracking, and close-out
  • Review MOC-related documentation for completeness, metadata accuracy, and approval alignment
  • Coordinate with engineering and business stakeholders to resolve documentation gaps and ensure timely closure
  • Upload, organize, and manage documentation within OpenText Content Server and other identified content locations
  • Provide regular updates on document progress, outstanding items, and risks impacting completion timelines
  • Support audits and inspections by supplying required records and document evidence
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance with document control standards and retention requirements
