DevOps Manager to support client in Insurance Industry

Location: GTA , 1 day onsite / week - Kitchener/Waterloo preferred - but open to Downtown Toronto or Mississauga

Hours: 40/week

Contract: 13 Months + extension

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (D2D)
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of cloud engineering projects and operational support.
  • Analyze new requirements, break them into technical and financial components, and define engineering solutions.
  • Lead capacity planning, project estimations, and timeline commitments.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and internal teams to translate technical input into actionable project plans.
  • Bundle analysis and updates for leadership in concise, high-level summaries.
  • Identify staffing needs and support hiring decisions when additional resources are required.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with internal and external teams on cloud engineering initiatives.
  • Represent leadership in communications with stakeholders, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  • Support weekend or flexible project schedules when necessary.


Must-Have Qualifications / Skills
  • Strong cloud engineering background; hands-on experience in AWS.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Foundational level required.
  • Experience with application operations; familiarity with Java or another OOP language
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (10/10 articulation).
  • Proven ability to analyze technical intake and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
