Data Engineering Team Lead to support the development, deployment, and support of data solutions and data modernization platform.

Our Financial Services Client is looking for a Data Engineering Team Lead to provide technical leadership and direction for the organization’s data engineering capabilities.

Overview: The role sets engineering standards, designs scalable and secure data architectures, and leads to complex, cross-team data initiatives. While remaining hands-on, you will influence platform strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, governance, and business priorities.

This is Permanent role, 100% Remote, Vancouver, BC preferred, open to BC, Ontario candidates.

Must Have:

• 8+ years of industry experience in Data Engineering with lead/mentoring/guiding junior resources and related field handling data processing and transformation of disparate datasets, data modelling
• Experience with big data and analytics programming languages such as Python, R, Spark in Databricks
• Experience with batch and real-time processing frameworks (EventHub, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, etc.)
• Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Semarchy and EventHub
• Understanding of data storage, mapping, modeling, and real-time data handling
• Strong ability to innovate and adapt to emerging technologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and security-first principles
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline

Nice to Have:

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, or Business Administration (MBA)
