Position Title: Business Analyst IT (Sales & Loan Origination)

Line of business: Commercial & Corporate Banking


Duration: 1 year (Possibility of Extension)

Location: Downtown Toronto - Hybrid: 2 days/week (Tuesdays & Fridays)


Reason why open: Support a new project - release planned for Sept 2026

Project: Related to application enhancement for loan origination (internally built system)


SUMMARY:


IMPORTANT: We are looking for a BA (IT) who is able to gather requirements and also build cases/familiar with manual testing, Following Waterfall methodology, this resource needs to be able to pivot -AGILE. This is a Hybrid role.


Investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services, and inform business decisions.

Defines business requirements to inform technology build and operations by sourcing and analyzing relevant data, reviewing and documenting business processes and collaborating with business stakeholders.

Sources business and market data to evaluate the effect of projects on business results.

Also assesses the efficiency and the performance of technology (software, hardware and the wider IT system) to deliver expected business results. Identifies and analyzes malfunctions, system workflow, and troubleshoots issues raised by business.


• Elicits requirements and analyzes feasibility to ensure solutions/initiatives achieve the expected business outcomes.

• Supports various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development is aligned with the business requirements.

• Develops informative, coherent, and usable project documents (project artifacts) for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements.

• Applies depth of domain & functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive the expected business value.

• Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.

• Builds tests cases in order to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results.

• Focus is primarily on business/group within bank; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

• Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.

• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

• Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents (Frameworks, Policies, Standards, Procedures and Supporting documents), laws and regulations.

MUST HAVE:

5+ yrs Business Analysis experience - IT applications

5+ yrs Tests cases building & also experience End user testing results (tests are not automated but exploring automation)

Waterfall methodology

5 + yrs Data Analysis skills - critical thinking with data accuracy

5+ Loan Origination

Excellent communication skills


NICE TO HAVE:

Banking/Financial Industry


Any specific education/certifications: 5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
