Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto- 2-3 days onsite/week

Subject to change: 3-4 days onsite may be required based on business needs

Contract Duration: 6 months (Must Convert to Perm)

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week


Story Behind the Need

Business group: Technology team manages the Client Onboarding system for GBM (Global Banking & Markets) business, the application is used by the Global Client Onboarding team to track KYC and jurisdictional regulatory monitoring workflows. We are looking for a Business system Analyst who is self-starting, results-oriented, highly motivated individual with great attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. A candidate for this role will need to multi-task, lead workstreams and be comfortable to work in a fast paced and agile environment with tight project delivery timelines.

Project: bank is preparing to upgrade its current Fenergo platform from Version 8 to FEN-X. This initiative requires support for both the migration effort and process redesign/re engineering.

The Business Analyst will be a part of a Saas migration project of the current Client Onboarding System.


Typical Day in Role:

• Work with SME's and business partners to understand the assigned workstreams (Data Remediation, Data/ Document migration, Reporting, Integrations etc)

• Quickly understand the current on-prem set up and work effort and tasks to migrate over to the Saas solution.

• Join internal business and Vendor meetings and provide inputs with regards to assigned workstreams.

• Ability to multi task and understand the end to end flow, so value can be added in other associated workstreams as well.

• Ensure product features and solutions are implemented as per defined requirements by working closely with development team and SME's.

• Develop SQL queries to analyze data that can be used to highlight issues and seek solutions.

• Ability to prioritze, highlight blockers, escalate and provide creative solutions during the project cycle.


Candidate Value Proposition:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to FenX as a niche product and will get trained on FenX university, experience with cloud (data, automation) which is up and coming, work on end to end implementation project.


Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst in financial services or technology delivery

• Experience in CLM, KYC, client onboarding, or regulatory operations - with demonstrated understanding of global KYC rules and regulatory onboarding frameworks (e.g., Dodd Frank, Canadian Derivatives, EMIR, MiFID).

• Strong data analysis skills, including profiling, mapping, and validation

• Proficiency with MS Excel (advanced) and Power BI (intermediate)

• Proficiency with SQL (advanced - complex queries)

• Previous experience on application migrations (preferred: on-prem to Saas)


Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Prior Scotia experience is highly preferred due to process familiarity. Especially in KYC or onboarding.

• Hands on testing experience (IST/UAT) with clear documentation and defect management

• Banking experience

• Experience with Fenergo / Fenergo implementations



Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.


Best VS. Average Candidate:

The best candidate is someone who can support the migration from Fenergo v8 to the new SaaS platform. Participate in journey mapping and defining the new target operating model. Assist with process redesign and understanding how KYC/regulatory onboarding flows will change.


Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience with Fenergo,

• Understanding of global KYC rules and regulatory onboarding frameworks (e.g., Dodd Frank, Canadian Derivatives, EMIR, MiFID).

• Familiarity with challenges in legacy CLM systems, especially Fenergo v8.

• Bonus: Experience with Fenergo FedEx upgrades at other Canadian banks.


Candidate Review & Selection - Interview Process

1-2 rounds - coding assignment (codility) sent to shortlisted candidates in SQL, they will have few days to complete- successful candidates will be invited to interview

In person - Tuesdays - or virtual as needed

1st round - Teams - 45 mins to 1 hr - Hiring Manager

2nd round - teams - 30 mins - Director - Soft skills and cultural fit.
