Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout of nuclear refurbishment projects ranging from $50M to $1B+.
  • Oversee all aspects of project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestone charts, progress reports, and cost forecasts.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities as may be required to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Provide direction to the team, including (but not limited to) those working within Project Controls, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning.
  • Ensure adherence to nuclear safety protocols and CNSC regulatory requirements as well as project governance processes, including gate reviews, change control, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and support junior team managers to build internal project delivery capacity.
  • Actively contribute to lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge management

Qualifications / Requirements
To succeed in this role, you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) preferred.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in capital project management, with at least 5 years in nuclear or complex infrastructure refurbishment projects.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale refurbishment or EPC projects within the energy sector.
  • Working knowledge of nuclear power plant standards, nuclear regulatory frameworks, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost management platforms (e.g., EcoSys, Prism).
  • Ability to work on-site at OPG Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and travel as required for stakeholder engagement
