Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our GTR Operations Team. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or professional equivalent related field and possess 2+ years of coordinating critical infrastructure projects, related to roadways, highways, railway, bridges, environmental, etc.

As a Project Coordinator, you will support Project Managers on various local infrastructure projects, such as transportation, transit, structures, environmental, and water. The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills, a strong technical background, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their technical career to grow professionally and have a significant impact on the organization's future. The responsibilities for this position are primarily engineering, planning, financial and/or design focused tasks (occasional and field tasks as required) including but not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate with project managers and multi-disciplinary teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and reports.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain and coordinate project documentation, including project schedules, budgets, and reports.
  • Effectively oversee multiple projects and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Oversee the preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings.
  • Monitor quality and adherence to regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Prepare presentation materials, schedule project meetings, follow-ups, and communications.
  • Support the development of proposals, design materials, and tender documents.
  • Attend networking events to represent the company and build professional relationships.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or professional equivalent related field
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination or engineering for critical infrastructure projects, such as roadways, highways, railway, bridges, environmental, water, etc.
  • Strong written and communication skills with a proactive approach to planning, design, and construction as required by projects.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player, with a strong commitment to leading multi-disciplinary projects and proposals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and technical documentation with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of Canadian transportation markets, regional municipalities and provincial ministry clients is an asset.
